Born and raised on the land in the tiny wheat belt town of
From a family of six children growing up without television, music was the main feature of family life. Alex’s father was a musician in a local band and involved Alex at an early age to learn the basics of the piano and then guitar. With his father’s guidance and encouragement, Alex would play and sing to entertain family and friends whenever and wherever he could. This upbringing is strongly reflected in his music.
At the age of 16, Alex started writing his own songs, with his passion for the land and family values becoming evident in his lyrics. “
When Alex was 21, the family suffered a major setback and lost the family farm. This meant Alex didn’t have a choice but to leave the land and the life he knew and loved. This however only reinforced his will to one day return to the land.
Initially after leaving the farm Alex became a qualified Agricultural Plant Mechanic. Coupled with his love for music, he began performing at hotels and clubs throughout regional
Recognising a talent, Alex began to compete in a range of major Country Music talent quests, gaining a measure of success and interest, including the
2004 saw Alex with wife Sheree and their 3 children pack up and head to the East Coast to pursue lasting success in the Country Music industry as a singer/songwriter. Now settled with his family in Tamworth N.S.W - the Country Music Capital of Australasia, Alex’s career is on the move in a big way!
He was a finalist in the prestigious Star Maker in 2005, and a finalist in 2006 TSA National Song writing Contest.
Alex released his debut album WINDOW DOWN, November 2005, produced in association with Roger Corbett. The title track WINDOW DOWN became his first hit, making it to #25 on the Top 30 Country Tracks Chart. His second single DADDY’S BOOTS secured a Top 10 spot on the Top 100 Country Hits chart..
Such support paved the way for Alex to receive a finalist nomination in the 2006 Australian Independent Country Music Awards for Male Rising Star.
His current single WATCH THE SUN GO DOWN, is again having the same effect.
